In some circumstances a submersible pump and motor will need to be pulled up to the surface by one of our water bore repair teams with a winch designed for the task.

The torpedo like submersible water bore pump is usually suspended at the bottom of the borehole by a stainless steel cable used to retrieve the pump. Also coming to the surface from the pump will be a flexible poly pipe that delivers the water and an electrical cable that powers the motor.

Our service teams connect the stainless draw wire to one of our purpose built portable electric winches and simply winch the pump to the surface. Simultaneously though it is important that we also manually gently pull up the electrical cable to prevent jamming and damage to the heat shrink joint.

If your water bore needs fixing call us on 9246 0111 and we will assess what we think is the problem over the phone and send the correct member of our team to fix your water bore. Assembling a Submersible Pump and Motor

When a submersible pump is assembled one of the most critical things to get
right is the electrical connection that will spend its life under water.
Most submersible bores in Perth have this underwater connection done using a
heat shrink kit. The submersible motor has a factory installed’ “blue lead”
which is connected to the electrical cable that will come all the way up
from the pump to the bore head at the surface. Seen here is the factory lead
first being crimped to the electrical cable and then the waterproof heat
shrink kit is applied. These are a series of sleeves which are essentially
shrunk over the cable joins provided a waterproof connection.

A separate stainless steel cable holds the weight of the submersible pump so
no stress is placed on this electrical joint. Sometimes in old submersible
bores incorrectly joined electrical cables can be a source of trouble. Our
bore electricians are well equipped to diagnose and repair any electrical
problem you may have with your bore or pump. For repair or installation of
replacement submersible pumps in any Perth suburb call us on 92460111 or
