Good Reviews Water Bore Perth

“I was clueless”

Don lives in Bibra Lake and the new pump in his old well was not pumping water.

He had rung several companies  and it seems all they saw was $$$.

He then rang Brett, who started Virgin Bores nearly 20 years ago, and is very knowledgeable about most things that can go wrong with a bore or old style well.

Brett talked through with Don over the phone how to prime his pump. It took a lot of water to top prime but it worked on the third attempt. Although there wasn’t much water coming out at first once the pipes had filled at the front and back of the house the pump changed sound and was really working.

What does a Pressure Release Valve do?

Pressure Release Valve

Pictured is a pressure release valve or they can be referred to as a pressure relief valve. It is designed to open and release water if the pump is started and the water has nowhere to go.

They are often used when we install a tap connected to a water bore. The valve is spring-loaded and set to open if there are any mishaps with the bore pump running and the tap being accidentally closed.

Also if your solenoid valves in your water bore reticulation fail to open and the pump is running the Pressure Release Valve allows the water to escape and helps prevent damage.

Pressure Release Valves are either preset or calibrated and adjustable. If the submersible pumps is run whilst the water flow is overly restricted or shut off (dead-headed) there could be overheating of the pump motor, in turn causing the rising poly main which  carries the water up from the pump to get hot blowing a hole in the side of the softened pipe.

Fix or Replace Old Style Well

We were called out to a customer in Wembley to repair their old style well. You can normally recognize these as they have a tin lid.

Our specialist servicemen found the well was drawing sand because the screen below the ground had collapsed.

It was decided to replace the old well and centrifugal pump after many years of faithful service with a modern submersible water bore.

You will see in this vision how the sand is flushed out of the reticulation pipes with crystal clear bore water from the modern submersible bore.

A submersible bore only has a 10 by 10 inch lid which can be dropped below the lawn or garden or even the driveway. It is invisible and silent from the surface.
