Winter sprinkler bans are in place across Perth, Mandurah and parts of the South-West and Great Southern from June 1 until August 30 each year. Many people are not aware they are not allowed to use their reticulation during winter.

Perth has had winter sprinkler bans since 2010 and saving about 4.5 billion litres of scheme water each year.
What does this mean for Perth bore owners? Bore owners are allowed to flush irrigation systems once a week on their rostered watering days, either before 9am or after 6pm, for about 2 minutes per station during winter. They can also be run during the ban period for the purposes of installation, testing and repair. Hand watering is permitted during the ban and customers can apply for an exemption for new lawns.
You can get more information at the Water Corporation website HERE or if you have any questions about using your water bore in winter in Perth call 9246 0111. On this Water Corp link there is an interactive map that lets you know if your property is included.
