On this spot we drilled an 18 metre submersible water bore for a customer at their home in South Perth.

Tom returned and installed the pump at 12 metres at the top of the slotted casing.

He installed a green rectangular bore box at the top of the bore which is covered over with sand so that bore is not only silent but invisible.

Nedlands Water Bores

This week George and the team drilled a 38 metre modern submersible water bore in the leafy Perth suburb of Nedlands.

It was drilled through sand and limestone and there was a good supply of groundwater from 24.5 metres onwards.

With no access to the front lawn this one was drilled in the parking area to the side of the drive. Nice clean up again guys!

Once the pump has been put down the bore hole, it will be connected to reticulation. A green bore box will be put over the top and paving will be all put back and everything tidied up.

The team drilled a 30 metre modern submersible water bore for this North Beach customer and got a plentiful supply of crystal clear water.

Difficult access on a sloping driveway drilling into a small walled garden bed. Way to go George!

All was tidied up and just the 100 mm bore casing left sticking out of the ground and a small pile of drilling waste sand on the verge.

Next we will cut down the bore casing to under the surface level and install the submersible pump.

Russell is one of our specialist drillers for shallower water bores in the greater Perth metropolitan area.

He and his team take a lot of pride in their work so they were pretty pleased with the ‘gusher’ they drilled in Wanneroo recently.

Wanneroo is generally pretty shallow for a water bore and the bore pictured was 18 metres deep with the bore pump set at 10 metres.

The moment of truth is before even the pump is installed when compressed air is forced down the borehole to develop up and prove the supply.

Water Bore Munster

This is a gusher we recently drilled for a client in the southern Perth suburb of Munster. Munster is located in the City of Cockburn.

As you can see in this video we have drilled and cased the water bore. We are pumping compressed air down the hole to remove drilling fines and muds. This process is also known as air developing.

The static water level was only at 3 metres so we drilled to 11 metres and set the submersible bore pump at 5 metres.

Fused Submersible bore Pump Perth

This is not exactly what Tom expected when he winched out a fused submersible bore pump in Bassendean.

The organic mass is a root mass. We think whoever drilled the original bore possibly configured it with slotted bore casing above the static water level causing fibrous root ingress chasing an easy route to water.

We replaced the pump and made the client aware he may have future root problems

We look after this old style well in the Southern Perth suburb of Applecross hidden in the large back yard of a quarter acre block.

The old well was dug in the 1950’s and has 4 concrete well liners with a three horsepower pump at the bottom of the well.

It has a hydro indexing valve which is very usual to see in a Perth reticulation system. Even the curious magpie has stopped to have a look.

The system uses 2 zones one at the front and one at the rear. Instead of solenoid valves it uses the hydro indexing valves to change from one zone to another each time the system is turned on.

These larger blocks in older suburbs provide a place for children to play and a safe haven for birds and wild-life.

Here we are replacing a 1.1 kW single phase submersible pump in the Perth suburb of Carramar. We also replaced 28 metres of downhole electrical cable with special rubberized bore cable and stainless steel draw wire in this 34 metre deep Carramar garden water bore.

New Water Bore Mount Pleasant

Virgin Bores have just drilled a water bore at a home in Mount Pleasant.

The Mount Pleasant Water bore was drilled to 22 metres with a 1.1 kW submersible pump motor coupled with a multi stage wet-end.

The single phase water bore was electrically connected including a single phase start box.

We then plumbed it into the existing reticulation and disconnected the existing reticulation from the mains water supply,

Crystal Clear Bore Water

Virgin Bore’s most experienced driller, George, is always pleased to see the first rush of bore water after drilling a water bore. Virgin Bores is always happy to deliver a plentiful supply of crystal clear water for their Perth customers.

Immediately after drilling a garden bore to the required depth, the bore is air developed as seen here. Even before the submersible pump is installed. Most garden bores drilled in Perth are drilled by the rotary mud method.

 

 

To clean out the drilling muds and “fines” we pump compressed air down inside the bore casing. At this stage air alone forces the groundwater up to the surface.
