David from Greenwood phoned us on 9246 0111 last week. We have installed and repaired many modern submersible water bores in the Greenwood, Madeley, Marangaroo and Warwick areas. His submersible pump motor was tripping.
We will talk your problems through on the phone and send the right tradesman so we can fix your modern submersible bore quickly and economically.
In this case we sent Dave our specialist water bore electrician. He has worked on literally thousands of water bores across the Perth metro area.
The customer’s 2 wire submersible motor was completely seized, when running it was drawing over 42 amps. It was a totally manual operation with plugs into an adjacent water proof power point which is fed by its’s own circuit breaker/RCD in meter box. All the other bore electrics tested OK.
So we returned to fit new barrel union, new cable down hole and new submersible pump wet-end.
David from Greenwood’s bore and retic are now ready for summer. How about you?
One of our bore service team went to a job this morning in Marmion. The bore was installed at this Marmion garden in December 2014 and it is 20 metres deep.
The bore was turning on normally with the power meter spinning faster when the bore pump was turned on with all the normal sounds and the tell tale click but there was no water.
We thought it was going to be a blown poly rising main pipe down the submersible bore hole but it was in fact a split fitting in the bore box. It was probably caused by the surface pipe connections to the retic having being completed and rigid before the pump was turned on for the first time. The very first running of a submersible pump fills the rising poly main with water which is then held there every after by the pumps check valve. This weight most likely stretched the stainless steel draw wire slightly and put undue pressure on the fitting which subsequently split.
We replaced the fitting and the bore is up and running.

Today we were busy talking to customers about water bores and water bore repairs on 9246 0111.
We just completed drilling a new submersible bore in Girrawheen. This bore was drilled to 42 metres deep and because of access restrictions for our drilling rig we drilled this bore in the driveway. Once the submersible pump is installed only a small access hatch will be visible that can be driven on.
We have drilled in Girrawheen and surrounding suburbs for many years so have an excellent knowledge of the ground conditions.
Girrawheen water bores are mostly in the 25 to 50 metres deep range.
Out of interest – “On 26 June 1970, the Shire gazetted the name “Girrawheen”, meaning “place of flowers” or “the place where flowers grow” in an Eastern States Aboriginal language, possibly that of the Kambuwal people in southeastern Queensland” (source: Wikipedia)
