Water Bore Marangaroo

The Virgin Bores water bore teams are up for a challenge with many years of experience drilling water bores in Perth.

Sometimes when a front garden is walled in there are very limited places to drill a bore. Legendary work by George and the team on this Marangaroo job.

The small green lid of the bore box will be completely hidden when the paving is put back. Nice clean up George! Especially after drilling 51 metres deep in such challenging circumstances.

Water Bore Dianella

We specialize in fixing modern submersible water bores and pumps fast and efficiently anywhere in the Perth metropolitan area. We have repaired many water bores in the Dianella area and the surrounds.

Here Adam is replacing a  submersible pump in Dianella. Submersible bores at the bottom of the hill in Dianella start at about 18 metres deep and at the top range up to 60 metres. In the shallower areas there are also many of the older style wells with visible centrifugal pumps.

 

Today was the hottest day since February 2017 with Perth’s temperature reaching almost 40 degrees. With such hot temperatures our phones tend to run hot.

There are many old style wells in the Stirling and Balcatta  areas. The area has a very rich history of market gardens.

Dave, our specialist bore pump electrician was asked to have a look at a four liner well at a property in Stirling that was not working.

He found the the 3 phase DOL starter was OK and the pump was actually running but there was no water. We tried to prime but the water was dropping away and not filling at all. He quickly found that it was the check valve that was faulty. So one of our service team will return and replace.

As you can see there is a good safe ladder for our guys to use to repair the well.  We are often faced with unsafe ladders which make our job impossible. Because of safety requirements we will only repair wells that are up to four liners deep.

Bore Repair Kingsley

We have been in Kingsley testing a 1.5 kw Red Jacket pump motor after Daryl rang us with problems with his submersible water bore. It has given faithful service as it is approximately 24 years old.

Ultimately the pump motor tested OK for our specialist bore electrician Dave but the original tests read dead short to earth. He found that the junction box in the borehead was completely burnt out. Dave replaced the junction box for new and all is working again. He did a Tong Test which was at 11 amps well within range.

Initial tests on this submersible bore showed a dead short to earth suggesting that the Red Jacket pump motor had failed.

Dave drilled several holes in the bottom of the junction box to allow water to drop out and not fill up in the future.

New Retic System West Swan

As well as servicing and repairing reticulation and water bores in the West Swan area. Virgin Bores install water bores and reticulation in the Swan Valley and surrounding suburbs including Viveash and Ellenbrook.

This reticulation installation job in West Swan was completed last week. This pretty bush garden is now reticulated and ready for summer. It took our guys David and Jack a few days to complete and everyone was pleased with the result.

Repair Water Bore Reticulation Mosman Park

We had a call from a client in Mosman Park to say that her bore and reticulation was not working.

Our bore electrician attended  promptly and found that the start box was tripping due to a faulty bore start capacitor. The 50 MF faulty capacitor was replaced and all is working on both reticulation stations again.

The capacitor shown in pic had clearly evident grey “gunk” oozing out the bottom. Sometimes this is black.

Often even an external smell test of the bore start box reveals a tell tale burnt smell when a capacitor has ruptured like this.

We informed our Mosman Park client some of the sprinklers were broken and more repair work was required.

Fix shared bore Mindarie

The phones are hotting up with Perth gardeners getting ready for another beautiful summer in the best city in the world!

We had a call last week from a Mindarie resident whose water bore needed repair.

It was a shared bore with a neighbour and they were keen to get it fixed pronto. Sharing a water bore is a great idea as it halves the costs. More shared bore info here.

Our specialist bore electrician, Dave, attended and tested and found the 1.1 KW submersible motor was fused.

He made a number of recommendations. Replace the bore cable down the hole, renew the junction box at the top of the bore, rewire bore to house and replace the submersible motor, start box and wet-end (pump). Mindarie-2-.jpg

Today we had a number of calls from customers in the Perth metropolitan area wanting their reticulation repaired. These included a sprinkler shooting straight up in the air, a customer looking for two solenoids in their front yard and sprinklers working intermittently.
