New Submersible Bore Completed in Wembley

We told you recently about a new submersible bore we were drilling in Wembley near Lake Monger.

It was drilled successfully resulting in beautiful and clear water.  Pictured is the new submersible bore before it is covered. The submersible bore green lid is only 400 mm by 300 mm. This was drilled to 25 metres, a common depth for a Perth Bore. It was drilled by our installation arm, Virgin Bores, to replace an old well that had failed. If you would like a quote for a new submersible water bore 9246 0111.

Water Bore Quote Ferndale

Today we visited a customer in Ferndale about a new water bore for their home after they rang us on 9246 0111.

Ferndale is a south-eastern suburb of Perth and is in the City of Canning.

There are clays and potential salinity in the area so we would use our considerable local knowledge and experience to ensure water flow is maximized and salt level is minimized.

The 4 inch submersible bore hole will be drilled to about 18 meters as that is the base of the superficial acquirer at this particular house. The Department of Water data base gives us a lot of the information we need.

If you would like a quote on a new submersible bore HERE or call us anytime on 9246 0111.

We have also drilled many water bores in the surrounding areas of Wilson, Lynwood Riverton and Cannington. With nearly 20 years in the business we have the expertise.

Reprogram Retic Controller

Recently we helped a lovely 91 year old vision impaired woman in the Melville area to reprogram her reticulation controller for summer. Note the Velcro on the middle button which helps her use her controller day to day. She still managed to maintain a lovely garden.

….and for something completely different, these days you can operate your reticulation controller from your iphone. It uses your wi-fi network to access the internet. We have installed a number of these now and the homeowners find them very useful and they only cost a couple of hundred dollars more than a conventional reticulation controller.

If we can be of any assistance 9246 0111 or for more information have a read HERE

Swollen Bore Pipe

Our Perth northern suburbs bore service man snapped this pic of a swollen PVC pipe in Duncraig.

Heat induced swollen PVC pipe
Heat from a centrifugal pump that ran without water deformed this PVC pipe.

The centrifugal pump in an old well had clearly been run without water flowing. The pump had consequently overheated causing the heat stress on the adjacent PVC and the resultant swelling. If you have any bore or well problem in Perth then please call us. Our mobile service teams are ready to help you north or south of the river.

We have equipped bore service vans on the road who can help you with any issues you may have with your bore or reticulation we can fix it quickly.

If you are in the northern suburbs and your bore needs repairing call Troy on 9246 0111  or book a bore service online

Bore Repairs Claremont

We have just repaired a water bore in Claremont for an elderly client.

We talked to the customer on the phone and identified the fact we needed to send our specialist bore electrician, Dave. He found the submersible pump motor was not working and certified it as fused so the client could claim on her insurance. Her insurance policy covered pump motor fusion. It was quite deep for a Claremont bore so we had to winch the pump up over 30 metres.

We install and repair water bores in the Claremont area and surrounding suburbs of Nedlands and Dalkeith.

Submersible Pump Motor Failed?

What are the causes of submersible bore pump motor failures?

The majority of  electrical failures of submersible pump motors in residential garden bore installations is as a result of the burning out of stator windings. Causes include, but are not limited to, high voltage surges/spikes and lightning strikes.

Other causes include-

  • The running of a pump against a “closed head” ( nowhere for the water to pump , closed valve, blocked outlets etc )  with limited water flowing past the submersible motor to aid in cooling, can cause failure of the thrust system. Dead-heading can also result in the “blowing” of the rising poly main line that delivers the water to the surface.
  • If a pump is run with not enough back pressure or head this can cause premature damage to upthrust bearings. It is important the pump is run on an accepted part of the “pump curve”. In a nutshell it must be running enough, but not too many, sprinklers.
  • Sand or abrasive matter in the bore  which can cause the shaft seal to wear ultimately causing submersible motor failure.
  • A failed check valve can cause back spinning of the pump impellors as the water flows back down the main line to equalize with static water level. This spins the pump at low RPM with insufficient lubrication. In deeper submersible bores this can, over time, cause failure.
  • constant stop/start, stop/start of the motor (machine-gunning) may lead to pump/motor shaft failure

Water Bore Gabbadah

We have done many submersible water bores in Gabbadah. Call us on 9246 0111.

For example, we completed an 88 metre deep domestic borehole in Gabbadah (Sovereign Hill ) just north of Perth. Very deep by metro standards! The groundwater is pumped directly to a  large storage tank from where it is used to irrigate a semi rural block.

With the size of some rural blocks in the area we use the best materials and methods and have the local experience in the area to get the best that is possible for the Gabbadah home owner.

We are increasingly drilling and servicing water bores in the areas stretching from Two Rocks to Lancelin. Recently completed water bores include Seatrees Estate, Breakwater Estate, Woodridge and Guilderton ( Moore River).  We are happy to advise on any water bore requirements, new bores or bore repairs not just in metro Perth but all along the coastal strip from Joondalup to Lancelin.

If you live on a semi-rural block in the Gabbadah area and would like to learn more about getting a water bore for your property and the money you could save read more HERE

If you have a Gabbadah water bore that needs repair call us on 9246 0111.

Thanks!
