Our drilling team had a win recently we would love to tell you about.
They drilled a successful 32 metre modern submersible water bore through limestone and sand in the outer Perth suburb of Baldivis.

“Great mob of blokes…Thanks so much we were impressed from the get go phone call and drilling mob. You should be proud of your team. Will highly recommend”

The Virgin Bores water bore teams are up for a challenge with many years of experience drilling water bores in Perth.
Sometimes when a front garden is walled in there are very limited places to drill a bore. Legendary work by George and the team on this Marangaroo job.
The small green lid of the bore box will be completely hidden when the paving is put back. Nice clean up George! Especially after drilling 51 metres deep in such challenging circumstances.
We have also repaired many water bores in the Marangaroo area and the surrounding suburbs of Madeley, Kingsley and Darch.

It was really special to work on this 120 year old well in South Fremantle. The client told us the age and said he was told it was originally hand dug through limestone to 60 feet.
The bottom the well is waist deep in water. The next step is we will lower a duly shrouded submersible pump and flexible poly pipe in to the water filled cavity at bottom. A stainless draw wire secured at the surface will then be used if it is ever need to be pulled up for servicing.
We did not go down the well and with the new submersible pump down the well it won’t be necessary for anyone to go down it in the future. That ladder can enjoy its retirement.
We have been repairing old wells (not normally this old) and water bores in Perth for nearly 20 years so our experience will mean we can fix your well or bore. Book a bore repair online HERE or give us a call on 9246 0111.
Don lives in Bibra Lake and the new pump in his old well was not pumping water.
He had rung several companies and it seems all they saw was $$$.
He then rang Brett, who started Virgin Bores nearly 20 years ago, and is very knowledgeable about most things that can go wrong with a bore or old style well.
Brett talked through with Don over the phone how to prime his pump. It took a lot of water to top prime but it worked on the third attempt. Although there wasn’t much water coming out at first once the pipes had filled at the front and back of the house the pump changed sound and was really working.
Thanks Don we appreciate the great feed-back for Virgin Bores
Don told us that if he had any future problems or repairs he would call Virgin Bores on 9246 0111.

Pictured is a pressure release valve or they can be referred to as a pressure relief valve. It is designed to open and release water if the pump is started and the water has nowhere to go.
They are often used when we install a tap connected to a water bore. The valve is spring-loaded and set to open if there are any mishaps with the bore pump running and the tap being accidentally closed.
Also if your solenoid valves in your water bore reticulation fail to open and the pump is running the Pressure Release Valve allows the water to escape and helps prevent damage.
Pressure Release Valves are either preset or calibrated and adjustable. If the submersible pumps is run whilst the water flow is overly restricted or shut off (dead-headed) there could be overheating of the pump motor, in turn causing the rising poly main which carries the water up from the pump to get hot blowing a hole in the side of the softened pipe.

We were called out to a customer in Wembley to repair their old style well. You can normally recognize these as they have a tin lid.
Our specialist servicemen found the well was drawing sand because the screen below the ground had collapsed.
It was decided to replace the old well and centrifugal pump after many years of faithful service with a modern submersible water bore.
You will see in this vision how the sand is flushed out of the reticulation pipes with crystal clear bore water from the modern submersible bore.
A submersible bore only has a 10 by 10 inch lid which can be dropped below the lawn or garden or even the driveway. It is invisible and silent from the surface.

We specialize in fixing modern submersible water bores and pumps fast and efficiently anywhere in the Perth metropolitan area. We have repaired many water bores in the Dianella area and the surrounds.
Here Adam is replacing a submersible pump in Dianella. Submersible bores at the bottom of the hill in Dianella start at about 18 metres deep and at the top range up to 60 metres. In the shallower areas there are also many of the older style wells with visible centrifugal pumps.
Today was the hottest day since February 2017 with Perth’s temperature reaching almost 40 degrees. With such hot temperatures our phones tend to run hot.
If you are having problems with your water bore in the Dianella area or the surrounding suburbs or Morley or Osborne Park call us on 9246 0111 or go to our website HERE
We also repair and replace centrifugal pumps in shallow old style wells.
Did you know that – “Dianella was named after the botanical title of a small blue lily, Dianella revoluta, which is a narrow-leafed plant which was plentiful in the area prior to residential development” (source: wikipedia)
We work for many real estate agents in Perth servicing and maintaining the water bores for their rental properties. We are sent a maintenance work order when a water bore isn’t working and we liaise with the tenants to repair the water bore.
Como Bore Fixed
We were asked last week to get our electrician to check a bore at a rental property in Como. The electrics were fine but it was not pumping water. Dave had to search around this corner block and eventually found a conduit and pump cable going to ground in the carport. He uncovered the tell-tale green lid of a submersible bore.
Conduit and submersible pump cable found near carport
He found there was no water at the top of the bore head. We returned and winched up the submersible pump and replaced some blown poly.
Flat retic controller battery
Some detective work by Dave uncovered that the mains power had gone off and the reticulation controller had auto reset for 10 minutes into all stations and the pump had been dead-heading. Non existent stations had been turning on the pump with nowhere for the water to go. This had caused the poly rising main to blow near the submersible pump. All caused because the back up battery had been flat and not preserved the program memory. We replaced the flat 9 volt retic controller battery for new. We also looped out the unused stations to prevent this happening again.
Both the tenant and the property owner are happy and the water bore at the Como property is up and running. If your water bore or retic system needs repair or service in the Como or South Perth area call Troy on 9246 0111 or book a bore service here
A resident of South Perth was concerned as their reticulation was not working and they contacted us on 9246 0111.
They reported that they could hear the typical “çlunk” sound as the contactor engaged when they started the bore pump from their retic controller.
Our electrician found that the one horsepower Sumoto submersible motor was not fused. The motor windings appeared to be intact but there was a complete dead short to earth.
His recommendation was that we replace the submersible motor, wet-end and electrical cable down the bore hole for new. He disabled and taped up motor tails in the borehead junction box and all the other electrics tested OK.
See the bore start box to the left of the retic controller
So another member of the team returned and replaced the .75KW submersible motor, 15 metres of electrical and stainless and barrell union. All tested OK and another South Perth water bore was back up and running for the hot summer months ahead.
When there is a problem with a water bore it takes experience and skill to diagnose the problem and repair efficiently, quickly and economically for the Perth householder.
