We won’t tell you where in Perth our service man came across this unorthodox bore and reticulation interface but it was north of the river.

The reticulation controller was an indoor model mounted outside. It “talked” to the 24 volt relay that turned on the old well style centrifugal pump. We were called because the old bore had stopped pumping water.

In this case ultimately the best solution was to replace the old well with a new style submersible style bore in the northern suburbs home. This was done by our Perth bore drilling arm Virgin Bores. Check out our website www.virginbores.com.au.

We drilled a new submersible water bore in this week for a customer in Sorrento 9246 0111.

After nearly 20 years in the “boring business” we have drilled many new water bores on Perth’s coastal strip.

The quality of the water at this Sorrento water bore was great. Salt levels perfect at 450 ppm. We drilled the bore in back yard via side gates as there was no access to front garden near electrical meter box.

Our electrician simply connected it up and over through the roof space. The number of stations on this retic system were halved when we connected the bore to accommodate the extra flow from the 1.5 hp submersible bore pump.

The job didn’t finish after the bore was completed. We then modified the garden reticulation system and added gear drive sprinklers to the verge.

New Submersible Bore Completed in Wembley

We told you recently about a new submersible bore we were drilling in Wembley near Lake Monger.

It was drilled successfully resulting in beautiful and clear water.  Pictured is the new submersible bore before it is covered. The submersible bore green lid is only 400 mm by 300 mm. This was drilled to 25 metres, a common depth for a Perth Bore. It was drilled by our installation arm, Virgin Bores, to replace an old well that had failed. It is covered over with soil and lawn so it is completely invisible. However it is important that the home owner keeps a record of where the bore is for future access.

Last week our water bore drilling  bore team at Virgin Bores, drilled a successful bore hole in for a customer in Applecross.

First the drillers back their rig onto an accessible area of the front lawn that the customer was happy with. Depending on the depth of the hole, the actual bore drilling normally takes less than half a day.

After drilling the bore is “air-developed” a process where compressed air is pumped down the borehole to clean the drilling muds and develop flow.

As you can see below in the pic of air developing a great result – lots of water and it looks crystal clear.

The submersible pump is normally installed the next day followed by the bore electrician and finally the reticulation connection if required.
